The Board of Directors maintains at least five (5) and not more than seven (7) members. Directors represent specific constituencies:
At least one (1) Board member shall represent Humboldt or Del Norte healthcare providers.
2. Nonprofit or Government Agencies.
At least one (1) Board member shall represent Humboldt or Del Norte nonprofits and government agencies
involved in healthcare regulation, education, funding, or advocacy.
At least one (1) Board member shall represent Humboldt or Del Norte healthcare consumers.
At least one (1) Board member shall represent Humboldt or Del Norte for- profit businesses which are not
healthcare providers, but which sell healthcare insurance, manage healthcare insurance plans, provide
healthcare insurance for their employees or otherwise work in the healthcare industry.
The Board of Directors elects an Executive Committee, consisting of four volunteer officers from the Board and other Board members. This Committee is given the full authority of the Board of Directors to manage the business and affairs of CHA. Directors are elected by a majority vote of the members present at an Annual Meeting of the Membership. Directors may be nominated by any member of the Community Health Alliance. All nominations must be submitted in writing to the Board Secretary at least four (4) weeks before the Annual Meeting of the Membership. Nominations specify which constituency the nominee represents.
